The Ticino river…
The Fiume Azzurro (the blue river), this is the way many people knows this beautiful river just few km west side from Milan in the North of Italy… This is where I run my boat hunting many kind of predators… Asps in particular.
Asp fishing is full power, pure adrenalin… It is a continuous hunt to target one of the most powerful and active freshwater predators imported in Italy from the Est countries.
Unfortunately this summer in Italy is particularly hot, the rivers are very low and fishing is always more and more complicate but that morning my Black Minnow 120 really made the difference. Asps were very reluctant and lazy with such an hot weather, difficult to attract them to my lure. After several casts I decided to use my secret weapon, a Black Minnow 120 Kaki with a Jig head Shore 12gr.
I let my lure sink and started to retrieve it very slowly… Black Minnow was actually designed for very slow action… the strike was immediate and ponderous…
